A team makes it happen! This morning our Thanksgiving Drive volunteers delivered 100 Thanksgiving baskets with turkeys to community partners at Expeditionary Learning Academy At Moylan School and Hands On Hartford🦃🏠 Thank you Elizabeth Densen ‘22, Michaela Anton ‘22, Erin Evangelista ‘20, Brooke Agro ‘22, Joe Barber and Beatrice Alicea in the Office of Community Service and Civic Engagement, John Michael Mason, Kevin McDermott, Dave Tatem, and many others in the Trinity College community.
We’d also like to give huge thank you to the ACES Annual Community Events Staff who spent the weekend shopping and packaging the baskets for delivery!
Their work hasn’t stopped either! ACES is also working on our winter Sponsor-a-Snowman drive. This drive provides gifts to children who are clients and former clients of Interval House, a domestic violence program in Hartford. This student-led effort began in 1996 and has grown to serve more than 120 children each year ages newborn to 18 years old. Donating is easy and can be done in just four steps:
- Take a snowman tag from the Sponsor-a-Snowman display outside of Mather Dining Hall
- Write your name on the master list next to the name of the corresponding snowman
- Purchase the item to donate and attach the snowman to the child’s gift
- Bring the unwrapped gift to the Office of Community Service and Civic Engagement (located in Mather Hall basement, next to the bookstore) by December 4
Anyone in the community is welcome to participate. If you are interested in sponsoring one of 145 gifts for a child or teenager attending Interval House CT’s holiday party, contact Contact Beatrice Alicea, Trinity Assistant Director of Community Service & Civic Engagement, fat email@example.com or call (860) 297-2160.
