Designing Community Learning Courses

For one-on-one help with course design, Erica Crowley is willing and excited to work with you on thinking through preliminary ideas, designing assignments, choosing readings, or building partnerships.

Each Community Learning course is eligible for up to $500 in Course Assistance Funds which can be used for stipends for community partners, transportation costs, books, instructional materials, video or photography equipment, hourly pay for TAs, food/refreshments, and other expenses approved in advance.

If you are more interested in a group context, Community Learning holds brainstorming events throughout the year, which can be useful for those interested in incorporating community learning into an upcoming course, fine tuning an existing course, or hearing about what other faculty are doing.
